Export guide

How to export all your Otter.ai transcripts

Native bulk export — done in 2 minutes, no tools needed

Log into Otter.ai in your web browser

Go to otter.ai and sign in. Important: you must use the web browser — bulk export is not available in the mobile app.

Go to My Conversations

You'll see a list of all your recorded conversations.

Select All

Click the Select All checkbox at the top of your conversation list. Every transcript gets selected at once.

Click the Export icon

With your conversations selected, click the Export icon that appears at the top of the list.

Choose your format

Pick TXT, DOCX, PDF, or SRT. We recommend TXT for analysis — it's clean and works with any tool. DOCX is good for sharing. SRT includes timestamps but is harder to read as a transcript.

Download the ZIP

Otter emails you a download link with all your transcripts packaged in a ZIP file. The whole process takes about 2 minutes.

Web only

Bulk export only works in the web browser. The mobile app lets you share individual transcripts, but there's no Select All or bulk export option.

Best format

For Moat analysis, use TXT — it's the cleanest format. SRT is useful if you need timestamps synced to video, but it's harder to read as a standalone transcript.

Frequently asked questions

Can I export from the mobile app?

No. Bulk export is only available through the Otter.ai web interface. The mobile app lets you share individual transcripts one at a time, but there's no Select All or bulk download option.

What's the best export format?

TXT for analysis — it's clean, lightweight, and works with any tool. DOCX if you need to share or annotate. SRT if you need timestamps synced to video. For Moat analysis specifically, TXT works best.

Is there a limit on how many I can export at once?

Otter doesn't publish a hard limit. In practice, users have exported hundreds of transcripts at once without issues. Very large exports may take longer for Otter to compile the ZIP file, but the process still works.
