Reality check
Gong is designed to keep your data inside Gong. Bulk transcript export requires either admin access or API credentials. If you're stuck, we can help — we've done this for multiple Gong customers.
Export guide
Honest answer: Gong makes this hard on purpose
①
Ask your Gong admin to request an account-level data export through Gong's GDPR/compliance data export feature. This is the only built-in way to get actual transcript text in bulk. The export includes full transcripts alongside call metadata. Processing time varies by account size.
②
Go to Conversations → Filter your calls → Click Download. This exports a CSV with call dates, participants, and duration. But it does NOT include transcript text. This is only useful for identifying which calls you need transcripts for — not for getting the actual conversations.
③
The Gong API v2 endpoint /v2/calls/transcript lets you pull full transcript text programmatically. Requires Admin API access and technical setup — you'll need to generate API credentials, handle pagination, and write a script to iterate through calls. Not a casual afternoon project, but it works.
④
Gong export is where most people get stuck. Book a call with Moat — we've done this for multiple Gong customers. We can walk you through it on a call (about 15 minutes) or handle the entire export ourselves.

The CSV export does NOT include conversation text. If someone tells you to "just download from Gong," they're giving you metadata, not transcripts. You need the GDPR export or the API for actual transcript content.
No. The CSV export from Gong's Conversations page includes call metadata — dates, participants, duration, and metrics — but not the actual transcript text. This is the single biggest point of confusion with Gong exports.
Very limited. Without admin access, you can only download individual call transcripts one at a time from each call's page. There is no self-service bulk transcript export for non-admin users. You'll need to ask your Gong admin to request a data export or grant you API credentials.
By design. Gong's value depends on being the single place where your team accesses call intelligence. Making bulk export easy would make it easier to switch platforms or use the data outside Gong's ecosystem. It's a business decision, not a technical limitation.
Or skip the export step entirely — try the Moat Mac app and import directly.
